1. The EBP Project Paper consists of Chapters I and II. Maximum number of pages is 10 excluding the title page and reference pages.
2. Chapter I consist of the Problem, Background and Significance. Formulate your burning clinical questions and state it in PICOT format. Read the chapter in Melnyk and Burns on Problem and PICOT statement. Find specific gaps in knowledge needed for practice to guide your choosing an appropriate and relevant problem. Your literature review will also help you with stating your PICOT question.
3. Chapter II is the Literature Review section.
a. Conduct a literature search and select at least 5-8 articles from Cochran Review, CINAHL or other databases of nursing research journals.
b. Make sure that these articles will support your PICO. In choosing the research articles, consider the strength of these articles based on the hierarchy of evidence in Melnyck.
c. Critically appraise each article using the critiquing guidelines and appraisal of evidence guidelines found in the course documents and your textbooks.
d. Use the pyramid of evidence or hierarchy of evidence to help you evaluate the strength of your evidence. The weaker the evidence is, the less support you get for your PICO.
4. Write your literature review in 5-8 pages using the APA format.
5. Summarize your literature review in a synthesis table and put it at end of your literature review.
In the beginning of this EBP project include Abstract and make sure you summarize the literature review in a synthesis table at the end.
In Significance part make sure you show mortality, morbility of the problem and money used.

Provision of effective health care entails providing health care that will meet the public health care needs at the lowest possible cost. It entails bringing together all the resources required to provide health care. The resources are usually expertise, medication, and knowledge. To improve quality of healthcare, the employee have be re-trained often so that they acquire current knowledge on health trends which they will apply in treating and dealing with health challenges. Quality is an important factor in the evaluation of the effeteness of a healthcare system. To improve quality, healthcare practitioners have to address matters infections acquired within health facilities. Furthermore, medical practitioners have to address matters such as the numbers of employees in a facility. Over the world, there is a constant deficiency of medical practitioners. If at all, a healthcare facility does not have an adequate number of employees then, it cannot deliver service to patient effectively. As a result, the quality of the healthcare service will be comprised. The healthcare sector requires adequate funding to ensure they can hire and procure the bets staff and medical equipment. Lack of adequate financing will to a huge extent compromise quality as the medical practitioner will take shortcut in treating the parents. In addition, the health care system has to charge reasonable prices for service. Affordability is imperative aspect of making healthcare available to all people. If at all the healthcare service are not affordable then they healthcare system is not effective. Additionally, the health care services have to be readily available which means that health care facilities should be in every part of the society so that any person can assess them.
Evidence based practise in refers to the meticulous, open and judicious application of the up-to-date evidence in decision making about patients’ healthcare. It refers to the integration of clinical expertise from the research undertaken. This dispensation focusses on bringing together clinical proficiency, patients’ values, and research evidence. By itself, evidence is not of much help. However, it requires an evidence-based practise requires a confluence of expertise and patients’ preferences. This new dispensation adheres to a new set of rules.
The biggest impact of evidence-based practises is that it has triggered a redesigning of medical practises with a focus on efficiency, safety, and effectiveness. This movement has modelled new medical theories for the medical practitioner revolutionizing medical practises. After the implementation of evidence based practises, there has been a focus on current information. Practitioners are pursuing new information which should guide their or the processes and practises employed to provide healthcare solutions.
